What Our Clients Say

What our clients say about working with us.

Two preliminary notes: First, we are in central Marin (despite my out-of-date SoCal location). And, second, this is a long-overdue review, because Sam and his team remodeled our kitchen and master bedroom in late 2019 / early 2020. Sam certainly deserves a strong recommendation, and I also think this late post is a testament to how well his work has held up. We talked to a number of contractors before hiring Sam. He came across as the most genuine and honest, and we were very happy that the person he presented as when we talked to him was exactly who he was throughout our project. In addition to being a highly skilled builder (and carpenter), the thing we appreciated most about Sam was his integrity. We never once had any issue where we felt like he was trying to "get one over on us" (something we have heard about with many other contractors). If there was an area where the cost might go beyond the quote (something that happened shockingly infrequently, based on the horror stories we've heard about other contractors), he always flagged it well in advance, and it was always a genuine issue that seemed unforeseeable. Sam really earned our trust--so much so that we asked him to do a sliding door replacement a few months after the kitchen / bathroom work. He and his crew did a great job with that as well. One and a half years later, I'm happy to report that everything's in great shape and we've been loving the remodel. Sam has our high recommendation!

I was very happy with the quality of work and professionalism performed by Sam [Cutler]. He guided design decisions that helped me stay within budget. His timing was good, he worked quickly to keep the aggressive schedule we had while allowing us to still use the space as we lived in it. I would highly recommend [Cutler Construction] for remodeling or new construction.

I had three criteria when searching for a contractor: Quality, Honesty, and Communication. Sam passes all three tests with flying colors. I've already recommended Sam to friends and family, and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. After my father passed, we needed someone to renovate my parents' former rental. The last tenant did a number on the place and it was already showing its age. Sam was aware of the significance of this project to my family and was very conscientious about keeping within the budget. He rebuilt the inside of the entire house including all new plumbing, electrical, and insulation. Mom was so happy with Sam's work that she had him remodel her own kitchen and bathroom. It's very difficult to find a contractor with a balance of craftsmanship, honesty, and effective communication. Don't hesitate to give Sam a call!
